Having said that, if you connect with the characters and the story, it might appeal to you a lot. This game is a bit of a mixed bag and the gameplay side of things really let it down. Xeno 2 - Poorest combat, strong story-telling with high production values, nice world exploration, bad mechanics like gacha blades and field skills, etc. It's definitely worth playing if you are a gameplay first kinda person. There is a hub city, and you basically run through various dungeons and progress the story that way. ![]() īattle Chasers - Another good combat system, decent music, wonderful hand drawn artwork as cutscenes, and a decent story, although quite minimal. The individual stories for each characters are a hit and miss, but it also means some might actually connect with you. It's fantastic if you like that sorta thing. World exploration is great because you can sneak into higher level areas and get powerful weapons early on. Xenoblade 3 is a great game but it's the third game if a trilogy that does draw from the first two and it has a lot to take in terms of mechanics. Octopath - Great combat system, amazing music, and non-linear world approach meaning you can do things in whichever order you want. Between those two I would choose Octopath 2 simply for the fact that it's writing is completely unrelated to the original and has a relatively concise gameplay system. ![]()
